Carding and spinning
Carding is a delicate and essential step, in which the wool tufts are passed between rollers covered with tiny metal points to align the fibres and remove further impurities. The result is a soft, even web of wool, ready for spinning. This process requires precision, patience and a thorough knowledge of the material, ensuring that every fibre is oriented in the right direction to achieve a high-quality product.

Home spinning
Our collaborators spin the carded wool at home, delivered to them by the person in charge of the wool house. They spin using a spinning wheel, called “Firadell” in dialect. Spinning 1 kg of wool takes up to 30 hours.
